Level of Severity

Gynecomastia could be confined to the area just under the nipple and areola, producing a small, localized protrusion or it could cover a larger area of the chest causing generalized breast enlargement. Sometimes male breast enlargement can be quite excessive approaching a size C cup.  

Methods of Correction

The only sure treatments for Gynecomastia are either or combination of  procedures such as Liposuction for the excess fatty breast tissue and Glandular Excision of the enlarged breast gland or Nipple Size Reduction for correction of Nipple Hypertrophy. The method of treatment depends on the composition of breast tissue surrounding the areola and nipple and also the severity on per case basis.                                   

Surgical correction of Gynecomastia is usually performed under general anesthesia. All suturing is performed beneath the skin; therefore there are no stitches to be removed. Either method chosen by Dr.Thomas will result in minimal downtime and fairly quick recovery of 7 days with ease of pain management.
