How to Choose a Plastic Surgeon?

Hi I’m Norma Wes, Marketing Director for Dr. Ivan Thomas, M.D., F.A.C.S. I feel that is very important to choose your plastic surgeon based on his or her qualifications, years of experience and not on price. I spend a lot of time with Patients on the phone and in person informing them of Dr. Thomas’ superb qualifications and education. I tell them their primary focus should be on quality care both pre and post operative.

Tips on Choosing a Plastic Surgeon:

1. Be sure that they are board certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Not any certification will do.
2. It’s important to check with the California Medical Board. They provide history on disciplinary action taken against any Doctor.
3. Always ask to see many before and after photos.
4. Never price shop over the phone. Go in and be sure you are examined by the Doctor.
5. Check out the office environment and the staff. Be sure you feel safe and that all of your questions are addressed.

Good luck and if you ever unsure about a Doctor’s qualifications or work even after you do the initial research, I recommend going with your intuition.
