What is Botox?
Botulinum Toxin Type A, better known as Botox is a purified toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. It is commonly used for minimizing the visibility of frown lines and wrinkles. The Botox is injected in very small amounts directly into the muscle where the frown lines and wrinkles are prominent. The injection causes temporary paralysis of those muscles so that the lines will noticeably fade.
Can Botox Prevent Wrinkles?

What Causes Frown Lines?
Frown lines on the forehead, in between the eye brows, under the eyes and around the mouth are all caused by loss of fatty tissue volume in the skin and years of muscle contraction from the various facial expressions that we make. Wrinkles better known as Crows feet, around the eyes, are caused from excessive squinting. Contributing sun damage also plays a role in the loss of skin suppleness. As the facial muscles contract, the aging, less supple skin, is unable to bounce back into it’s natural position causing the appearance of noticeable and eventually deep frown lines.
