Botox in Beverly Hills – Frequently Asked Questions

Are there alternative methods of reducing frown lines?

There are Skin care products that claim to reduce frown lines and wrinkles that may be great for temporarily filling in the fine lines and wrinkles but do not actually provide long lasting and significantly noticeable results as Botox.

Will I be able to show natural facial expressions with Botox?

Botox minimizes fine lines and wrinkles while preserving natural facial expressions when administered correctly by a skilled Board certified plastic surgeon.

What to expect after Botox Injections

The Botox is injected in very small amounts directly into the muscle where the frown lines and wrinkles are prominent. The injection causes temporary paralysis of those muscles so that the lines will noticeably fade.

Results can be seen within about 3-5 days and generally last about 4 months before repeat treatments may be necessary. Using Botox means no surgery, no downtime or recovery time.

Potential Side Effects of Botox

For a small percentage about 1% of patients minor temporary side effects may include drooping of the eyelid, known as ptosis. Other reported side effects include headache or upper respiratory infection. There are no known permanent side effects to the use of Botox.

Other Options besides Botox

Procedures such as Exoderm and Vi-peel are great all over chemical peels for skin rejuvenation, building collegan and getting rid of the fine lines and wrinkles of aging skin. Fillers may be used for filling in the deeper lines and dimples of the face that are caused by constant muscle contraction & Botox is great for halting the animation that creates these lines & wrinkles.

What is Exoderm?

Exoderm Lift is a non surgical method (chemical peel) used to erase deep wrinkles, sun damage and old acne scars. It works from below the dermis layer lifting the skin internally and removing the old damaged skin without cutting.

Do’s and Don’ts before having Botox & Injectables:

Do not use aspirin or products that contain aspirin up to 2 weeks before procedure to minimize potential bruising or swelling around injection sites.

What can I expect to Pay for Botox?

Botox is charged per unit. If you go to a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon you can expect to pay $9 – $15 per unit. Anything less and you may not get the full dosage meaning a watered down version or by an unqualified person.
