Otoplasty, Botox, Blepharoplasty, Rhinoplasty and more great Plastic Surgery for the Face.
What are you talking about?
You may not realize it but your body can tell someone so much about you. Whether we are interested, confident, poised, healthy, strong, young or old. Sometimes many of these body signals are detected at subconscious levels.
Beyond Words
Besides observing gross body postures and movements, the eyes can detect tiny changes in the bodies of others. Research in laboratories has shown that some of these slight changes are detected at the subconscious level. Here are some of the subtle changes the subconscious can detect.
* Changes in skin tone and texture due to blood flow changes when emotions fluctuate.
* Changes in eye pupil size as interest peaks and wanes.
* Tensioning and release of tiny muscles in the face and scalp from emotional changes.
* Eye angle changes (even at a distance) as one diverts attention away or on something.
* The precision timing of eye contact indicating interest, disinterest, or intimidation.
What do my ears & nose tell others about me
An unconscious cue to recognize youth in is the size of ears compared to the size of eyes.
The ears and nose continue to grow constantly as we age but the eye size remains nearly the same throughout life.
Women throughout history have also taken advantage of this fact and made themselves look younger by using makeup to increase the apparent size of their eyes. Surgery can change the nose (Rhinoplasty) and ears (Otoplasty) to remove a decade or two.

At the right is a woman with her 95 year old ears. Compare her ear size with the much younger woman above.
Older woman who wish to appear as young as possible may want to wear their hair long to cover their ears! Men on the other hand can have otoplasty performed, which can change the projection (how far they stick out) of the ears but not the length. There are surgeries than can reduce the size of the earlobe. Dr. Thomas performs both ear projection and earlobe repair surgeries.
Wise Eyes
You heard the saying “The nose, knows”. Well what about the eyes? They can see and sense things too. Since the eyes are our most powerful body language message transmitters, here are some general rules about looking into the eyes of another person for longer periods of time.
It’s okay to stare for long period of time when you:
* Like or love a person.
* Are far apart and trying to improve communication.
* Are deeply interested in what they are saying.
* Know they are extroverted and like being close.
* Are expecting an answer or response from someone.
* Are trying to dominate and intimidate someone.
Tired Eyes
Many people suffer from tired, puffy or mad looking eyes. Tired eyes can project to others that you don’t want to be bothered or that you may be upset. Has anyone ever asked you if you were tired or mad when you weren’t? Tired looking eyes can be caused from droopy upper eyelids, large bags under the eyes, and/or hollow pockets under the eyes. Scowling or squinting brows can project the image of being frustrated or angry. All these aging eye issues can be addressed through some minimally invasive procedures that take less than one hour to perform.

Fillers Talk Beverly Hills – The Right Doctor and the right injection for you!
As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas is renowned for his expertise in breast enhancements, tummy tucks, body shaping and facial rejuvenation. Although less invasive, it is equally important to receive physician-administered injectables, such as Botox and facial fillers. A board certified plastic surgeon has the training it takes to understand the anatomy and movement of the face to give you the best aesthetic result. One should take as much time deciding who will administer your injectables as it is to decide who will perform your surgical procedure.

What about the horror stories of facial filler injections?
The horror stories that we’ve seen in Hollywood tabloids of stars such as Michael Jackson and of disfigured faces and damage from toxic injections are usually credible due to illegitimate or inexperienced medical practice.
What are my filler options?
Often you are faced with the plethora of name-brand injections to choose from. It can be hard to decipher what filler goes where, how long it will last, etc. Most commonly, we seek to refine lines & wrinkles, smooth out deep folds & creases, and fill hollow, sunken areas. Not too long ago the only product we had to choose from was collagen, which often diminished in just about 2-3 months. Today, collagen has been replaced by hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a substance that is found naturally in the body. Its molecular structure is such that it attracts water to it, volumizing the area, leading to a youthful appearance. To reach an optimal aesthetic result, it is recommended that you have a qualified doctor consult with you and advise you on the best course of action.
What’s in Dr. Thomas’ Injectable Toolbox?
Juvederm, Juvederm Ultra, Restylane, Prevelle, Radiesse, Botox. Dr. Thomas is known for his cutting-edge procedures, like High Lateral Tension Tummy Tuck and Exoderm. Likewise, he keeps abreast on the newest injectables, such as Evolence and Reloxin.

Beverly Hills Botox – Less Invasive Procedure
In Beverly Hills, board certified plastic surgeon, Ivan Thomas administers Botox on a regular basis. As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas is renowned for his expertise breast enhancements, tummy tucks, body shaping (Lipo Sculpture) and facial rejuvenation.
What is Botox?
Botulinum Toxin Type A, better known as Botox is a purified toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. It is commonly used for minimizing the visibility of frown lines and wrinkles. The Botox is injected in very small amounts directly into the muscle where the frown lines and wrinkles are prominent. The injection causes temporary paralysis of those muscles so that the lines will noticeably fade.
Can Botox Prevent Wrinkles?
More and more youth are using Botox as a wrinkle preventative. Some patients start as early as 20. As you get older and lines start to settle in they may be untreatable by Botox alone and may require both a filler injection & Botox.
What Causes Frown Lines?
Frown lines on the forehead, in between the eye brows, under the eyes and around the mouth are all caused by loss of fatty tissue volume in the skin and years of muscle contraction from the various facial expressions that we make. Wrinkles better known as Crows feet, around the eyes, are caused from excessive squinting. Contributing sun damage also plays a role in the loss of skin suppleness. As the facial muscles contract, the aging, less supple skin, is unable to bounce back into it’s natural position causing the appearance of noticeable and eventually deep frown lines.
